Something from the new project...

After nearly two weeks of background research I finally started working on the new project yesterday. I wrote a few pages, reworked them, and then reworked them some more. I'm feeling pretty good about the project and really excited about the story line. I don't want to give away too much right now...but I wanted to share a line from what I've been working on. It made me smile while I wrote it.

"My mother was fair skinned, pale in a way, with a mass of dusty blonde curls that often tempted her resolve when it came to taming them. Her morning ritual of cursing them into submission was a childhood memory that would probably remain with me for years to come."

Love that "cursing them into submission" ;) Have a great weekend everyone!

Working...

I've been visited in my dreams for several nights with images that I could not get out of my head. It turns out that those images have merged together into a new story that I'm excited to work on. I'm in the research stage but I'm just really feeling connected to the story and where it is going. I caught this little saying from The Book of Acaill and I had to share it.

If you be too talkative, you will not be heeded;
If you be too silent, you will not be regarded...

Don't know why but it stuck in my head. I thought it was meant to pass along;)

Hope everyone is having a great week and I'll update more on the new project as it begins to take shape. I'm EXCITED!

Tease from Anna...This is from the Prologue

The night was a good one to hunt. It was cool, almost crisp, and the moonlit sky gave way to many interesting possibilities. I enjoyed the game, the chase, and now I waited. Perched in a tree, I turned toward the west, looking for something worthy of a chase. I lifted my head, opened my mouth to taste the air, and then I caught it. I’ve scented it before. It’s always there just out of my reach. I closed my eyes, letting my senses search out the direction the scent was coming from. My ears twitched, catching some unfamiliar sound in the distance. I jumped from the tree in one graceful leap, letting my large legs carry me toward my prize. I wasn’t entirely sure why I needed to find it, or even what I was going to do when I did. I couldn’t control the sense of connection surging through me. The scent called to me, almost like it was trying to awaken something deep within. I followed the path along the creek in the back of the property knowing the scent was there, somewhere.

A New Blog

Hello everyone! I'm working on this new blog so give me a little time to get it all together. With five kids, a husband deployed, and all the writing I'm trying to keep up with my time is in short supply right now. I hope to put up a sampling of my work soon. Anna is anxious to meet everyone;)
